Nova Oculus CEO Steven Hite visits Parliament Hill
OTTAWA, ON (May 2, 2023) — Steven Hite, Chief Executive Officer of Nova Oculus, visited Parliament Hill in support of, and to meet with, MP Judy Sgro for her second reading of Bill C-284 — a bill that commits the Canadian government to a national strategy dedicated to the improved access to eye care and rehabilitation and prevention services for eye disease.
Mr. Hite also met with several other members of parliament, including Senator Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia, Mr. David Epp, Mrs. Karen Vecchio, Ms. Jenny Kwan, and former Senator Asha Seth for discussion related to the rollout of Nova’s medical device, the Nova Oculus III, in Canada in the coming months.
Update: On June 8, 2023, Bill C-284 was unanimously supported by the House of Commons in the 2nd reading, with 324 votes in favor. The Bill has now been referred to the Standing Committee for possible amendments and further study.
